Sienna ,  a Grade 6 student at Elwood Primary wrote to the epa last year,  as she was concerned for wildlife in the park having seen so many dogs running off the leash. She thought that a good way to help deal with the problem could be to develop a Nature Ambassador scheme in her school to help raise awareness for the values of nature in the reserve. The epa, her parents and school leaders have all supported her ideas, determination and foresight. We recently held the first walk over the reserve with 44 excited potential ambassadors from all year levels. Leaders will be chosen from each year and all the kids will have an opportunity to get involved in the reserve in many different ways. It was fantastic to see the level of interest and passion from the kids (and teachers and parents) to get involved and become custodians of the reserve.
